Pursuing Grand Ambitions of Serving and Strengthening the Nation as Strivers with Readiness to Undertake Responsibilities

In order to deeply implement the spirit of the National Education Congress and guide young students to cultivate a profound sense of national responsibility and establish lofty aspirations to take root in grassroots communities, the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, jointly with the College of Marine and Environmental Science and the College of Bioengineering, organized a promotional lecture titled "Pursuing Grand Ambitions of Serving and Strengthening the Nation as Strivers with Readiness to Undertake Responsibilities" on April 14. The event invited outstanding volunteer representatives from the West China Development Program and retired university student soldiers to share their inspiring stories of struggle and youth.

During the lecture, Hu Hao, a retired university student soldier, vividly recounted his personal growth journey and military experience, illustrating his transition from a "student" to a "soldier." He also provided a detailed explanation of the application process, policy benefits, and future development opportunities for graduates enlisting in the military. Zhu Yaoxin, an outstanding volunteer from the West China Development Program, shared touching stories from his time serving the community at the grassroots level. He described how he evolved from an inexperienced university student into a skilled professional, continuously shining in efforts to bridge the "last mile" of public service and fulfilling the original mission of a young volunteer through practical actions.

The lecture ignited a strong sense of patriotic enthusiasm and responsibility among the attending students. They expressed their commitment to actively respond to the national call, set lofty ideals, courageously shoulder the responsibilities of the times, engage in grassroots work, and contribute their youth to the nation's prosperity and development, writing a new chapter of youth in the new era.
