Elsevier, a renowned international academic publishing group, officially released the 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list on March 25. Three professors from Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST)—Professors Gao Faming, Si Chuanling, and Wang Shujun—were selected as highly cited scholars in the fields of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Light Industry Technology and Engineering, and Food Science and Engineering, respectively.
Their recognition as Highly Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier not only affirms their long-term dedication to in-depth research and pursuit of academic excellence but also strongly demonstrates the effectiveness of TUST's discipline construction and talent development support. This achievement is a vivid reflection of the university's high-quality, connotative development and plays a positive role in advancing scientific research and disciplinary progress while expanding TUST's global influence.
It is reported that the Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list uses Scopus, a globally authoritative citation and indexing database, as the statistical source for Chinese scholars' research outputs. The list attracts significant attention from numerous media outlets and scholars both domestically and internationally. Being selected for this list indicates that the total citation count of the papers published by the scholar as the first author or corresponding author places them among the top tier of researchers within their discipline, signifying world-class influence and outstanding contributions to the field's development.
The 2024 list includes 6,388 scholars from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 10 major disciplinary areas and 83 first-level disciplines as defined by the Ministry of Education.
