Tianjin University of Science and Technology Hosts "Green Chemical Engineering · Materials Empowerment"

Tianjin, June 10 – Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) held the "Green Chemical Engineering · Materials Empowerment" – Frontiers Achievement Release Conference on Green Chemical Engineering and New Materials at the Zhongguancun Science Park in Binhai New Area, Tianjin. The conference was jointly organized by the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, the Haihe Science and Innovation College, and the Technology Transfer Center. Professor Lu Fuping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC TUST Committee and President of TUST, attended and addressed the conference. Attendees included representatives from leading industry enterprises such as China National Chemical Research General Institute, China Salt Engineering Technology Research Institute, Tianjin Petrochemical, Bohua Chemical Group, Dalian Mingyuan Technology, Beijing Jiuxiang Technology, and Guangdong Zhongjie Precision, as well as officials from the Binhai New Area Science and Technology Bureau, along with TUST faculty, staff, and student representatives. The opening ceremony was presided over by a responsible comrade from the Haihe Science and Innovation College.

In his address, President Lu Fuping extended a welcome to all the guests and expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and assistance from all sectors of society. He stated that this conference not only showcases a concentration of scientific and technological achievements but also marks a new starting point for deepening industry-university-research-application collaboration. The university will leverage the "Pioneer Plan" to strengthen coordination and collaboration with government, enterprises, and research institutions, build a comprehensive innovation chain, accelerate the transformation of achievements, serve national strategies and regional development, promote the construction of new engineering disciplines and interdisciplinary integration, and strive for more original breakthroughs in the fields of green chemical engineering and new materials, contributing "TUST Wisdom" to Chinese modernization and green, low-carbon development.

The achievement release session was hosted by a responsible comrade from the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, who introduced the agenda items, including achievement releases, policy interpretations, and project cooperation signings.

Professor Wang Yanfei, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, presented the school's development history and scientific research profile. He indicated that in recent years, focusing on the "Pioneer Plan" and key areas such as green intelligent chemical engineering, bio-based polymers, low-carbon catalysis, and resource recycling, the school has achieved numerous original and pioneering results.

The conference centrally displayed a batch of representative scientific research achievements, including the third-generation adsorption system, green manufacturing technology for fully biodegradable materials, and multi-color afterglow organic-inorganic hybrid materials. These fully demonstrated the scientific innovation strength and broad prospects of TUST in the fields of green chemical engineering and new materials under the guidance of the "Pioneer Plan," highlighting the research teams' commitment to serving national strategies and responding to industrial needs.

To enhance the efficiency of achievement commercialization, the conference specially invited Yin Miao, a relevant official from the Binhai New Area Science and Technology Bureau, and Cui Jian, a relevant official from the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, to deliver thematic presentations on "Technology Contract Recognition Registration and Process" and "Cheetah Enterprises," respectively.

During the conference, the College of Chemical Engineering and Materials signed project cooperation agreements with Beijing Jiuxiang Technology Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Zhongfu Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., respectively. It also reached strategic cooperation agreements with Hongyuan (Tianjin) Ecological Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Binhai OTC Market Co., Ltd.

At this conference, participating enterprises actively expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation with TUST in areas such as technology transfer, platform co-construction, and project application. The university engaged in in-depth exchanges with multiple leading industry enterprises regarding key technology攻关 (research and breakthrough), achievement transformation, and industrial synergy. Several roadshow projects successfully reached cooperation intentions.

Looking ahead, TUST will continue to be guided by the "Pioneer Plan," focus on green and low-carbon development, tackle key core technologies, deepen synergistic cooperation with government, enterprises, and research institutions, and accelerate the construction of a high-level, integrated industry-university-research-application innovation system, injecting robust scientific and technological momentum into promoting the high-quality development of the green chemical engineering and new materials industries.
