On April 10, the China Light Industry Federation (CLIF) and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives held their respective council meetings in Beijing. Professor Lu Fuping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC TUST Committee and President of TUST, attended the conference.

During the conference, the CLIF announced the "Decision on the 2024 CLIF Science and Technology Awards" and held an award ceremony. This year, TUST received recognition for three achievements. Among them, the project "Creation and Application of Key Enzymes for the Bio-manufacturing of Important Sugar Products," led by Professor Wang Zhengxiang from the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, was awarded the First Prize for Technological Invention. The project "Key Technology and Industrialization for the Preparation of Polymorphic Healthy Edible Salt," led by Professor Tang Na from the same school, was awarded the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress. Additionally, the project "Development and Application of Key Technologies for the Bio-manufacturing of Cosmetic Efficacy Factors and Substrates," with Professor Zhang Cuiying from the School of Bioengineering as a participant, was awarded the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress.

These awards represent another landmark achievement of the "Scientific and Technological Climbing" initiative since the implementation of the "Pioneer Plan." Moving forward, the university will further implement the spirit of the Fourth CPC TUST Congress, promote organized research, strengthen the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, enhance the cultivation and application for high-level scientific and technological awards, continuously expand the university's influence within the industry, and contribute "TUST Strength" to high-quality economic and social development.

Background:
       The CLIF Science and Technology Award is the highest-level scientific and technological accolade in the light industry sector, regarded as its "badge of honor." It aims to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to scientific research, technological innovation and development, the promotion of scientific research results, and the commercialization of high-tech achievements in China's light industry. The CLIF Science and Technology Awards are conferred annually and possess the qualification to nominate candidates for national science and technology awards.
